On Wednesday, xAI released a full 45-minute all-hands meeting video. Musk attributed recent staff departures to restructuring amid rapid growth, though the loss of key founding members raised questions.

(Musk photo)

The new structure splits xAI into four teams: Grok chatbot, coding system, Imagine video generator, and Macrohard. Imagine now generates 50 million videos daily and over 6 billion images monthly—but those figures overlap with a surge in deepfake porn on X, including an estimated 1.8 million sexualized images in just nine days.

Musk doubled down on space-based data centers, envisioning a lunar factory with an electromagnetic mass driver to launch AI satellites. Such infrastructure, he said, could eventually support AI clusters capable of harnessing solar energy or expanding to other galaxies. “It’s hard to imagine what intelligence at that scale would think about,” Musk said, “but it’ll be incredibly exciting to see it happen.”

Toby Pohlen, head of Macrohard, added: “Anything a computer can do, Macrohard can do. Soon, rocket engines will be fully designed by AI.”

Roger Luo said:Grand visions of intergalactic intelligence collide with platform-wide deepfake chaos. xAI’s technical ambition is unmistakable, but so is its ethical blind spot. A moon base may be decades away—moderating explicit content is not.

(Deepfake Technology: Google’s Response)

Google revealed new efforts today to fight harmful deepfake content. Deepfakes are fake videos or audio made using artificial intelligence. They can look or sound very real. This technology poses serious risks. Misinformation is a big problem. People might believe fake videos showing events that never happened. Scams using fake voices are increasing.

Google is introducing new tools. One tool automatically adds invisible watermarks to AI-generated images. This watermark stays even if the image is changed. People can later check if an image came from Google’s AI. This helps identify AI-made pictures. Google is also developing similar audio watermarking. This will mark audio created by its AI tools.

The company is working with others. Google joined a group of tech firms. This group will create ways to detect deepfakes across different platforms. Sharing detection methods is important. No single company can solve this problem alone. Google supports new laws against harmful deepfakes. Clear rules are needed to protect people.

Google updated its own rules. Its platforms now ban AI-generated content meant to mislead voters. This applies especially during elections. Removing such content quickly is a priority. The company trained its staff to spot deepfakes faster. Google also funds research into better detection technology. More research is crucial for staying ahead of misuse.

(Deepfake Technology: Google’s Response)

Users will see changes. YouTube will soon require labels on realistic AI-made content. Creators must tell viewers if a video uses AI for real-looking scenes. Google Search will show information panels about deepfakes. These panels explain the risks. Google wants users to understand what they see online might be fake. The company urges everyone to be careful. Trusting everything online is dangerous.
